Symposium — Sunday, April 23, 2017 — 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM — , Room W193
Teaching of Physiology Section — Chair: Kathryn M.S. Johnson — Co-Chair:
As student populations become more diverse, it is essential for educators, administrators, and institutions to implement practices that ensure the success of all students. Using evidence-based practices in teaching and mentoring, and then evaluating the impact of these practices, is critical for success within and beyond the classroom for both current and future students. As an introduction to inclusive practices, education researchers will present evidence of successful inclusive practices and practical implementation strategies. Students will comment on the impact of specific inclusive practices on their educational experience and trajectory. Attendees will leave with a basic understanding of what defines an inclusive practice and ideas for implementation and assessment of these practices.
