Integrative Physiology Symposium Series — Chair: Gina L.C. Yosten — Co-Chair:
Numerous recent advances in biomedical engineering have been made in recent years at the subcellular, cellular and tissue levels. These advances have not only led to the development of novel research tools, but also they have enhanced our understanding of normal physiological processes and disease mechanisms. Importantly, the integration of engineering and physiology disciplines has led to the development of advanced therapeutic options for the treatment of multiple diseases. In this Integrative Symposium, we will explore how engineering approaches have contributed to advancements in cardiovascular, renal, muscle, neural, endocrine, and cellular physiology.
