Physiological Adaptations to Hypoxia: From Mountain Top to Ocean Bottom.
Featured Topic — Tuesday, April 24, 2024 — 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM — Convention Center, Room 26
Hypoxia Group — Chair: Michael B. Harris — Co-Chair: Esteban A. Moya
This is planned to be a 90 minutes featured topic session that will begin with the Lahiri-Cherniack lecture given by Dr. William K. Milsom.
Dr. Milsom will be allotted 45 min total speaking time (including time to answer questions). The remaining time of the featured topic will be distributed evenly among speakers selected from abstract submission. The aim of this session is to discuss the evolutionary mechanisms developed in response to low-oxygen conditions and put together people working in comparative physiology with others studying animal models or humans exposed to hypoxia.
Speakers
- Lahiri-Cherniak Lecture of the APS Hypoxia Interest Group.
William K. Milsom — Dept. of Zoology, Univ. of British Columbia
